Description
Ancestral Knowledge is a program for the day leaving the Curarrehue square.
Visitors and the local guide will meet in the Curarrehue square for the welcome and presentation of the program. The group will walk to Trawupeyum Inrercultural Village and the museum it houses. Here the instruments and compilations of Mapuche stories stand out. The route continues with the transfer to Puela Bajo to start a Mapuche Ancestral Medicine Workshop, facilitated by a Machi, ancestral authority that hurt the wisdom of their ancestors.
After lunch, the program continues in the Juan de Dios Ancamil Indigenous Community where a short walk will take place along an interpretive trail of the temperate rainforest, characteristic of this area and that preserves, depending on the time of the year, a large number of copihues .
The day ends with a visit to a craftswoman dedicated to the ancestral fabric, showing the stages of the process. The meeting includes a tour of its garden and orchard where it is inspired to perform the work and obtain the inputs of natural wool dyeing. You can also know the sales room with the finished works. The tour will end in a viewpoint with a wide view of the valley and then return to the Plaza de Curarrehue.
